I have a Compaq desktop with Win XP. I have now got a Acer notebook with Win

This is too confusing ! In anycase, I NEED to transfer , not back-up &

To transfer the data, you will need to back it up on Machine 1 and then
restore it on Machine 2. Thank you . I read ALL the details in the suggested webpage and carried out
the step by step procedure. But I get the following ERROR msg: " The wizard cannot locate your new computer. Make sure the new computer is turned on and that your network is working properly.” The two computers are ON and I can see them in the "View Workgroup Computers". What is wrong and what can be done ?
