This is probably the best solution, thank you. rock You're welcome. If you decide to use yahoo, be sure and activate POP3 at the Yahoo mail web interface or it won't work. I've copied and pasted this three times now, changing the subject line but nothing else. I'm supportive of you guys and have always talked you up to everyone I know. So is there anyone that will reply here? My Hotmail Plus account is getting full and I need to transfer some files out of my inbox to somewhere else. Last two times I moved files to another folder, OE marked all the letters as unread and "0KB" for a file size for each and every letter making it necessary to reopen them all, waiting as each one downloaded, etc. For the record, is there a way to take files out of Hotmail and store them in a way that will make room for more storage? And do it without closing all the mail? Thanks. This newsgroup has been a source of great help to me over the years and I thank those of you that have given your time to helping clueless guys like me. rock I have no idea how to help you except to say use something else besides Hotmail. Any Yahoo domain besides yahoo.ca or yahoo.com can be used in OE and doesn't cause the kind of problems Hotmail causes. One would think that Microsoft's Hotmail would work with Microsoft's Outlook Express but, being as Microsoft merely bought Hotmail and didn't create it or try to improve it, it's really no surprise. I'm sure this wasn't the reply you wanted but the only time I've ever had problems with Outlook Express was the two days I put Hotmail on it and I see a lot of posts in this newsgroup with Hotmail problems, hence, the above suggestion. (not always a good thing to "assume") lol If you use OE, why not just send those emails you wish to retain to your "other address"? Send them to yourself. That way you will make "more room" in your Hotmail acct. I do this if I want to "SAVE" an email from my online Hotmail Acct to my OE program. If this is not the correct answer you're looking for, please forgive. AnnE |
