Default OE 6 Links Work but Very Slow to Load with IE7

I am on an XP SP2 pc with OE 6 and a DLS web connection - I installed IE7 a
week ago and when clicking on a link from an OE6 email it usually takes
30sec-1 min for IE7 to load the page vs. when IE7 is started from the desktop
icon it comes up right away.
IE7 loads subsequent linked pages from within the same email very quickly
(usually) so I am wondering if this is a specific OE 6 problem that might be
fixed if I switch to Outlook 2003, or is there an OE 6 setting that can be
tweaked?

Any thoughts or ideas will be appreciated. Thanks...

If it eventually loads, it is a problem with IE7 and not OE. Run a Defrag
and reboot, but if the problem persists:

Ok - I will repost on the other board but I thought it relevent here since I
saw a MS exec's blog comments about OE not being updated until Vista and
hence strong compatibility with IE7 not being expected.

Another reason I posted here is that when the OE6 freezes up completely
after the link is clicked until IE7 finally loads linked page -- is that
"normal"?

Thanks agian... TGH

Try going to Control panel | Add / Remove Programs | Set Program Access and
Defaults and set IE and OE default. If that doesn't help see
www.oehelp.com/ielnk.aspx and the references there as well.

Make sure the full path to IE is there and not the path with tildes in it
(~).
