Outlook Express, unlike Outlook is not easily programmable. There is very little published about using an API for Outlook Express by MSDN with this exception: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...e/oe_entry.asp -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) Dave wrote: I want to make an application that can read "Folders.dbx", "understand" the folder structure and store it. For a general page with info about the DBX file structure, you can review
the info here, which although not written by Microsoft, is fairly accurate and contains most of the publicly know info about them: http://oedbx.aroh.de/main.html If you just want to "read" the folder, you can open it with Notepad or Wordpad, although if you change a single byte, you will make the file unreadable/unusable in Outlook Express. And you maybe will begin to understand why so few people have any desire to work with it. -- Jim Pickering, MVP/Windows Mail applications Please reply ONLY to newsgroup. They just changed the URL. The information is still there, but its not
going to help with the folders.dbx file structure. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms709546.aspx steve "Jim Pickering" jimp (AT) mvps.org wrote in message ... Actually there are lots of inaccuracies there. Particularly with
