I just switched to DSL . When I setup the identities for the new server in
oe6 all went well. However, I had 4 different identities in outlook express when I had dial-up and when you clicked the oe icon in the tray it gave you a box and you selected the identity that you wanted. Now that I have DSL when I click the icon it goes directly to the first identity and if you want a different one you have to go through the whole "switch identity" thing. Is there a way to get the selection box back ? Thanks for your time and any help you can offer Bill |

OE will always open to the default identity now.
You can speed up switching a bit with this freeware tool. OETool: www.oehelp.com/OETool/ -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Bill G" wrote in message ... I just switched to DSL . The box will appear at logon and then you can choose the ID that you want. -- Kath Adams MS MVP - Windows (Outlook Express) |

Hope you don't mind me "jumping" on. I've got a slightly different but I
think related problem. I just got DSL as well and configured my Outlook Express to recieve email from my MSN server. However, last night we tried to send out an email that had a large number of addressees. Since then I've recieved intermittent error messages that read: "Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'Main Acct (MSN)', Server: 'pop3.email.msn.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F" Any idea why this is happening and then what I can do to fix it so I can keep using Outlook Express? Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer
of protection that eats up CPUs, slows down sending, and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A/V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more, see: http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 Also. your ISP limits the amount of addresses you can send to in one mailing. That you will have to find out. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "JT" wrote in message ... Hope you don't mind me "jumping" on. I've got a slightly different but I think related problem. Bruce,
thanks for the advice. I'll give it a try and see how it goes. jt "Bruce Hagen" wrote: Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program.
