Outlook Express - IE 7
I just downloaded IE7 and installed it. Now when I have an email with an
embeded URL and click on it nothing happens. |

Browser: IE /must/ be chosen here if you're running IE7 and want such links to work. If still no joy: From: http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm If nothing happens when you click a link: Open Windows Explorer, or the Control Panel. Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types. Scroll down to [NONE] URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol (NOT URL:Internet Shortcut) and select it. Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version. Select 'open'. Click Edit. "Application used to perform this action" should read: "C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome (Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the double quotes.) DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have: #1: "%1",,-1,0,,,, #2 IExplore #3 (blank) #4 WWW_OpenURL URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same. Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "krc" wrote in message ... I just downloaded IE7 and installed it. Bruce,
Tried this without success. After Set Program Ac cess and Defaults selected Custom button and clicked on IE and Outlook Express. Clicked ok. Tried URL address in Outlook Express email and it did not work. Went back to check settings and they had returned to Use My Current Web Browser, etc. At the IE Tools/Internet Options/Connection it is indicating IE7 is the current default browser, but selecting URL within email is not working. Any other thoughts? "Bruce Hagen" wrote: Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Set Program Access and Defaults | Browser: IE /must/ be chosen here if you're running IE7 and want such links to work. I have the same problem. However, there are two accounts on my PC and it
works fine on one but not the other! I tried switching to MS Windows instead of custom in the settings and it made no difference and reset itself to custom. Any help much appreciated. Hugo.
