Automatic updates
I have set my computer to "Download updates for me, but let me choose when
to install them". The tiny shield indicating that downloads are ready appears in the notification area but if I click on it I am only offered the choice of either an Express or a Custom installation. What I need before I proceed further is what these downloads are, in case there are some I don't wish to have. How can I find this out? T.I.A. for any assistance you can provide. |
Automatic updates
This is hardly an Outlook Express question, but click Custom. It will then
show you what updates are available and what they are for. Then you can choose to download what you wish. IMHO, I would always download Critical patches at the very least. Your notification, IIRC, does not notify you of optional, or low priority updates. FYI, there are exceptions, but for the most part, updates are offered on the second Tuesday of the month. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Dumb Bunny" wrote in message ... Custom will let you select which ones to install. You also get some
info about each update to help you choose.
