I would like to have the same identity ("documents and
settings\username\local settings\application data\identities\alphanumeric
identity") on two different computers to simplify cloning message rules,
etc.

Matter of fact I'd like to do away with that long OS-generated identity and
replace it with something simple. I'm the only user on these computers, so
there should be no issue there.

Possible, and how?

You can't change the GUID, but this may be what you are looking for.
