Odd DBX behaviour
Hi, each time I "compact" OE my recycle bin receives a heap of "BAK"
files.(59) They are copies of the DBX files from the "main identity" (me) I tested this by compacting four times, and finished up with 4 copies of all the DBX files in the recycle bin, as BAK files. The "feature" seems to have started after I had some difficulty downloading one particular NG, and OE would stop responding. (gave up on that and OE seems to be behaving) OS is WinXP Home SP2 with all latest critical updates. |
Odd DBX behaviour
The reason being there were so many people losing their messages during
compaction, that now the files are backed up first. steve "mae" wrote in message ... It is intended - from the last Outlook Express Update. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918069 and see: http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2 -- mae "Sunny" wrote in message ... | Hi, each time I "compact" OE my recycle bin receives a heap of "BAK" | files.(59) | They are copies of the DBX files from the "main identity" (me) | I tested this by compacting four times, and finished up with 4 copies of all | the DBX files in the recycle bin, as BAK files. | | The "feature" seems to have started after I had some difficulty downloading | one particular NG, and OE would stop responding.
