Cannot send mail, but I receive mail ok??
 

All of a sudden I cannont send mail through our main account, we receive
mail just fine. I have another account for work with outlook express where
I switch Identities and log into and that one is just fine, I can send mail
from my second account to my main but cannot send out of my main. I checked
all the mail account properties with the main account and all is fine, both
are through adelphia.net using Outlook Express 6.. Below is the message I
get when trying to send out mail in the main account:

"The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's
e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'pmt122@adelphia'. Subject
'News Report.ppt', Account: 'mail.adelphia.net', Server:
'mail.adelphia.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553
adelphia.adelphia.net does not exist', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC78"

Here's another twist the original post to the newsgroup went through as did
this message just fine using my main account yet mail still will not go
out?? apparently mail to newsgroups is working but all else is not... Please
help guys

Well, apparently you have the emial address wrong: You quoted it as:
'pmt122@adelphia'
but the TLD is missing (the ".net" part).

And that agrees wtih what the error message says also.
Add the ".net" to the address; it should work.

Your email address is configured wrong. It should have "net" at the end?
Your message to the newsgroup will not be affected by this. You do not have
to configure a news account with a real email address, and indeed it's best
not to. Spammers harvest NG's for email addresses.

I am having same or similar problem (see 12/25/06 post). I have ".net" in
my address an dreceive same Error Number but get Server Error 550 not 553.
See my message for fixes I have attempted so far.

Well, OE indeed can't but IE (Internet Explorer) can tell OE to
display the article. I.e. putting this



in the "Address" field of *IE* and pressing Return will cause *OE* to
display your article.
