Do you want to compact window
Hi
All of a sudden, when the "do you want to compact" window appears, as always I say OK. The compact window starts and THEN a second window now appears that says "copying", It doesn't show what it is copying. What is going on ? Thanks Frank |

If all is well after compacting, you can delete the back up. That said, if you manually compact more often than every 100 closings of OE instead of waiting for the pop up, you'll never see the pop up again. Alias |

Do you want to compact window (backups in the recycle bin)
MVP's:
I have noticed since this change was implemented with the last windows update that my hard drive gets fragmented more often. Before this change, I defragged once a month. Now I have to defrag once a week or more. Questions: 1 - Is this normal with this change? 2 - Is it okay to defrag more than once a month? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! How often do you compact your folders? If you do it a lot, the Recycle Bin
will become huge if you have huge OE folders and even if you keep emptying it, you will have to Defrag more often, especially if you have a small HD, or a very full HD. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Regina" !! wrote in message ...
