Where are the emails going?
I have not been able to receive emails from a "bellsouth.net" address that I
used to get all the time. The sender who uses OE6 is sure she is sending them to my usual address, and they do show in her "sent" folder. I do not find the missing emails in the spam folder or trash folder of my email server when I check my email online. Outlook Express6, which I use to retrieve my mail does not have any blocker rules and they are not there either. What could be the reason for this? Where could they have gone? I do not have any problems with anybody else's mail or with anthing in my PC. Please comment. Thanks. Joan |

She is using antivirus software that scans outgoing e-mail. This can and does often result in an e-mail being sent to the Sent folder, although it didn't really go out. The antivirus program instead stopped it from going out, but AFTER it was already inthe Sent folder! Have her turn off E-mail scanning if she uses it in any of her programs. 2. Her server/s may be blocked by being on a spam blocklist. Not that SHE is a spammer, but there are spammers as neighbors and they ar causing ISPs to not accept emails from her ISP. If you provide her ISP name (NOT her email address!) we can look up whether she might be on any blocklists or not. 3. She's caught in your webmail filters and is being deleted instead of tagged, before you ever get to see it? Check out those settings. Send her an e-mail and ask her to respond to it using the Reply function. Be certain you have your email address correct in your account settings first, of course. See if that gets to you. Ask her exactly what address she uses, and check it carefully for errors. If you know anyone else on your same ISP, see if they'll let you have her send them an e-mail to see if it gets to them. Does she have any other email sources, like Yahoo, etc.? Ask her to send an email from those to you and see what happens. Let us know what happens; any additional details could help, too. HTH Pop` |

I will ask her about her AV software scanning outgoing mail and
unfortunately I do not know anyone else using my server to try the alternative of sending to my server. How do I check if my server is deleting her emails as you mention in possiblitty no. 3? I know for sure she has my email address correct and same with my settings as I receive all other email sent to my address. Thanks for your help, Pop. Joan "Poprivet" wrote in message ... No, her emails do not show in my Outbox on my webmail page or anywhere else
there.I will ask her to check what you mention, is it supposed to be checked, or not? Thanks, Joan "PA Bear" wrote in message ... If you don't have the option enabled, all messages are removed from the mailserver (and your Inbox on the webmail page) once they're downloaded into OE (whether you see them or not). Also directed to you: View Current View Show all messages (checked?) Are her messages found in Deleted Items folder? Do you use any Message Rules that might be filtering out her messages? Yes, its not wise to scan outgoing e-mails.
Pop, see if you can help me with Yahoo. If its going to a Yahoo address, they're blocking just about everything with a link that isn't Yahoo. I cannot even email my own Yahoo account (I've tested my theory) with any link in it but a Yahoo link...and cannot raise a human to discuss this with. My DSL company is also working on the same thing with them for other customers. I cannot even send to my family members who have a Yahoo email address, and they definitely bounce if I put in a link--so I just write the links out now, and don't use the punctuation marks, etc. sheesh. I am on a national health advocacy board and this is frustrating. People all over the world are ill and waiting for our response (healthcare referrals) but if they're using Yahoo we cannot get our email through to them without carefully "going around" anything and everything that seems like multiple sends or links (even NIH/NCI, etc.). I had a spell there where I received emails in my Deleted Items, or Drafts folder after the penultimate OE6.00 update, too. Never could figure it out. Whatever MS is doing with OE, its not user-friendly, and they have not notified all of their customers. I'm testing Thunderbird (Mozilla) now. Tired of this new OE process of having to go "offline" before we delete our posts or emails, and before we compress our folders, then check the Recycle Bin and delete IT, if our Email's all there after compressing the Folders. I don't want all that on my HD every day.. Its a huge waste of time. "Joan" wrote in message ... I just sent myself an email to a Yahoo account with a link to Google, from
another account, via OE and it went through just fine.
