Default Creating a message rule

In the past I had a message rule created so that all messages with a
particular subject would go into a specific folder I created. Somehow my
husband deleted that folder so I had to create it again. Luckily there
weren't any messages in it. I created the new folder again and the message
rule, but now it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Thank you very much!

Does your rule include 'Stop processing more rules'?

Ron,

No it does not include that. In fact, I have deleted all mail rules for now
in concern that I wouldn't get any messages at all.

Thank you!

Any message rule must include Stop processing more messages, unless the
option is grayed out.

In general:

Have all rules that divert mail to folders first.

Delete it from server next.

All others last.

Make sure that every rule also has Stop processing more rules checked,
unless that option is grayed out.

usually when a rule folder is deleted the ruled folder option becomes RED.
all you have to do is edit the rule and re-establish the name of the folder.

Default Creating a message rule

Hello,

For some reason I don't recall the "Stop processing more messages" when I
set up my previous rule. I am very curious about something before I try all
of this stuff. Why when I click on a message that I want the rule to apply
to, from the tool bar I click message and the "create rule from message" is
grayed out? Shouldn't that be an option for me?

Thanks.

I honestly don't know why Create rule from message is grayed out. You are in
the Inbox? I never use that option myself. If I want to create a rule, I
just go to Tools | Message Rules | Mail | new and create it that way.

I goofed on the other question. Stop processing more *rules* should be
checked if available, not messages. If it isn't, a message may be affected
by a rule other than the one you want applied to the message.
