Message Rules Store
Is there a way to export the message rules so that they can be read, if
not modified, outside of Outlook Express? A friend has an extremely large number of rules, and he is, of course, having problems. It would be helpful to have the rules in a separate file to review. Scrolling through them while connected with pcAnywhere is a royal pain. |

You can export the rules and open in WordPad, but a lot of it is gibberish
and they can't be modified the http://www.insideoe.com/backup/partial.htm I'm not sure why reading them where they are is a problem. You mention being connected with pcAnywhere, but you can read them while working offline if that helps. I don't know if any of this will help, but................. They can be exported as a REG file and read with WordPad, but you'll probably find that harder to deal with because it will not be laid out nicely as in reading them in OE and each rule has an entry under criteria and another under action. I don't recommend it, especially not trying to delete a rule that way. They are in the Registry.
