Originals never show in groups
 

All of a sudden all the messages in all the groups on all the servers have
begun to show only the response and never the original post. Every message
begins with no mater how new or old it is. I tried removing the accounts
completely and starting over but that did not help. Another identical System
is functioning fine. What in OE 6 decides the what messages show up and
which ones don't.

I might add that the System that has all the bugs was once infected with
the I.E.7 malware and has not been behaving well since.
Any ideas how to fix this read issue?

Several things control what you see:

View, Current View - controls such things as to whether you see read
messages or not and whether or not messages are grouped by conversation
(thread). Each newsgroup and mail folder has its own settings for
these.

Tools, Options, Read, Automatically expand grouped messages control
whether or not the whole group in a thread is shown or just one message
with a + in front of it.

Tools, Options, Read, get xx headers at a time controls whether or not
OE downloads all messages for a newsgroup.

On the chance that the local DBX file for a newsgroup is corrupted, you
can use Tools, Options, Maintenance, Clean Up Now and RESET a problem
newsgroup individually, or all newsgroups on a news server, or all
newsgroups (select Outlook Express in the Local File(s) box).
