Default Windows Media Edition

Just bought a new laptop. Windows Media Edition, all updates in place. When
I am reading the newsgroups ( using OE ) I am having a problem. When I click
on a mail folder it is highlighted in blue, but as soon as I click on one of
the messages in that folder the blue color of the highlighted folder almost
goes away, so It is hard for me to tell which mail folder I am reading. I
changed back and forth from Clear Type thinking it had something to do with
that. I can barely detect which folder I am reading. My other laptop has
always shown the folder as highlighted in blue, and when I click on a
message in that folder, the folder stays highlighted in blue. The WME
laptop has been this way since I bought it, just wondering if there is a
setting somewhere.

The only part of the newsgroup list in blue for me is the unread message
count.
View, Layout, check Folder Bar.
I have the Folder List closed when reading.
Click on the Folder Bar, click on a folder, and the folder list closes and
the selected folder opens.

Just noticed that it is also happening in the Windows Explorer, Very, very
light grey. Seems it is not an OE problem, must be a setting somewhere in
MCE.

Sorry, that's the way it is. The name of the folder your in is also listed
in the Title Bar on top, or you can turn on the Folder Bar from View |
Layout.
One thing this is supposed to help is having the user realize what will be
deleted if they press the Delete key.
