What could cause all of the existing dbx Stores to disappear from Outlook
Express All standard folders except the Deleted Items Folder are replaced with empty versions. Deleting the Folder.dbx does not restore the dbx Folders and neither Easy Outlook Repair, Advanced Outlook Repair, or Recovery Toolbox for Outlook Express has any effect. |

That can happen if you do something to stop a compacting operation, such as
shutting down the computer, or use Task Manager to shut down Outlook Express because it seems to be running slow or seems to "hang." Any of those choices sound familiar? If so, see this article with some tips: The Other E-Mail Threat: File Corruption in Outlook Express: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/...orruption.mspx -- Jim Pickering MVP-Windows Mail applications Please reply only to the newsgroup. Its probably that the dbx file message store location got reset in OE and
the old files are still there but in another directory. See here for message recovery techniques: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4 Search for *.dbx and make sure you do an advanced search and include hidden files in the advanced search. You'll probably then find the current directory and the older one. If you find the older one, then use File | Import | Messages and then point to it. If that doesn't work, then don't waste your money on those other programs. Get DBXpress. It will search the entire hard drive disk clusters specifically for OE messages and not just within the dbx files. Its the only program that will do this. end of plug G steve "Mayhan" wrote in message ...
