Is it possible to merge dbx files into one identity?
I have transferred my emails from MN to FL for 4 years now, but I keep forgetting to record my identity, and have used several different ones. As a result, I have at least 4 dbx files holding emails, some of which I would like to keep and consolidate with my present identity. In this way, I will delete the other identities to get rid of this confusion. |

Can you test by copying the old DBX files to c:\temp
Create a new test identity. Try to import all those DBX files into the new test identity. |

The method outlined below is a tried and true one that works quite easily.
In your case, since you have 4 files, just modify it to include archiv1, archiv2, archiv3, and archiv4 for the DBX files in question. The information is quoted from the website: www.oehelp.com quote "To backup and restore a single OE5 or 6 mail folder, save the appropriate dbx file. To restore, create a new folder in OE5 or 6 (call it archiv1, for example) and access it once. Then close OE and find archiv1.dbx and delete it. Make a copy of the folder you want to restore and rename it to archiv1.dbx. Then copy that file into the directory where the previous file was deleted. Open OE and the messages you wanted to restore will be accessible via opening that archiv1 folder." /end quote -- Jim Pickering MVP-Windows Mail applications Please reply only to the newsgroup. This takes you to a dialog where you can select the folder, and then proceed with the import of whatever folders are there. This does require that you know where those files are; log on to that identity, then go to Tools, Accounts, Maintenance, Store Folder to see where they are. Note that Explorer may have this folder helpfully marked as Hidden. Finally, pay attention to the size of these files. You do not want to create a final DBX file that is too large. If you get to a gigabyte, create a new folder and move most of the contents there. HTH -pk |

You might want to try OEX. www.oehelp.com/OEX/ It will allow you to point
to any non-corrupt dbx file and import the messages from it into your current message store. It also has a remove duplicates feature as well as others. steve "Chickootz" dpcicchi(do not wrote in message ... Is it possible to merge dbx files into one identity?
