Spam filtering rules
Hi there,
I have been trying to get some successful OE rules set up to filter spam, have done research, but cannot find the answers below: Is there a way to filter the message source of a message (trying to detect web bugs), or is message content restricted to the viewable message itself? Is there any way to set up more complicated conditional rules, ie if "this thing", but not "that thing"? As I said, I have done some research, but is there a particularly good source of info regarding setting up of rules? Thanks so much for any help. |
Spam filtering rules
If you have Block Images checked, or you read in Plain Text, you don't have
to worry about SpamBots, ( Web bugs). There is no rule that can detect them. Filtering in your messages is the most effective, if it is practical for you. I created a folder canned View Offline. Then I created a rule to only allow people in my Address book in my Inbox. All other mail would go to the View Offline folder and, as it implies, I would click the Offline button on the toolbar before opening the folder. As mail came in that I wanted in my Inbox, like places of business I deal with, I would just add them to the rule.
