Email Limitations

On occasion I need to send out a single Email to about 1000 recipients.

When I try I get an error message stating to many Email recipients (or
something to that effect). I have to limit the Email addresses to about 75
per Email so it take 10 -15 separate Emails to do what I should be able to
do in 1.

I do not know if that is a limitation of OE, Roadrunner, my firewall or
what.

Anyone know if such a limit exists in OE and if so is that an changeable
parameter?

If its a limitation of OE, can someone suggest a better mail reader?

TIA
Darrell

No such limitation in OE, talk to your ISP about its anti-spam safeguards.

Thank you, I'm trying to isolate where the bottleneck is.

It is your ISP that limits the max number of recipient per mail.
Wouldn't matter which e-mail client that you use. You establish a mail
session with your ISP, a RCPT-TO command gets send for each recipient
(so obviously it is easy to count the number of recipients), and then
you send a single copy of your message in a DATA command and the mail
server handles sending a copy of that DATA to each RCPT-TO. You have a
personal account with them which means you are expected to send personal
e-mails. Bulk mailings, like to a 1000 recipients, is NOT what your
personal account is geared for.

Your ISP is limiting it; check with them.

I did, Thank you.

We are looking into a different account, but everyone wants at least $25
per month which is a lot to a non-profit org who only does the mailings 4x a
year.

We'll keep looking.
