Sent messges go, but remain open on screen

Lately, when I reply to or forward a message, SOMETIMES, even though
the message gets sent and goes into the Sent folder, the message
remains open on my screen (leading me to believe that I never hit
"Send").

Has anyone had this? Does anyone know what to do about it?

See if its a 3rd party program interfering. See
