Error 1606
Hi
I installed IE 7 and got into troubles. One of the last ones is the fact that my Palm Pilot does not Hot Synch. Going to Support.Microsoft KB or Q 315352 it tells me that the problem relates to some incorrect registry setting or entry. Note that I had no troubles till I installed IE 7. In the instructions on Registry fix, it tell me to go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft|Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders and then to double click on Common Administrative Tools. Well --- I got to the last point but I DO NOT HAVE the "Common Administrative Tools" file in my XP. I am running Windows XP Pro 2002 with Service pack 2. Any suggestion on where to go to get a direction to fix this. Thanks Don |

Did you read this note in that article?
"Note This registry key exists only if you upgrade your computer from Windows 98 Second Edition to Windows XP or from Windows Millennium Edition to Windows XP." If you bought a PC with XP installed, or did a clean install of XP rather than an upgrade, then that key doesn't apply to you. The article also mentions that "This behavior may also be caused by Norton AntiVirus". Are you running Norton? You would be better helped posting in a newsgroup of Windows XP. news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...dowsxp.general news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...security_admin -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Don S." wrote in message ...
