Default saving OE6 messages when re-imaging

Hi,

I need to re-image my old PC with WIN98 (I know - processor is too old
for anything else) and I don't want to lose all my emails in my
inbox. I tried copying the .dbx files but OE6 doesn't seem to be able
to find them when I try the Import wizard - says "No messages can be
found in this folder or another application is running that has the
required files open. Please select another folder or try closing
applications that may have files open." Tried importing from OE6
Identity and Store Directory without any luck. Also tried moving the
files to another PC but OE6 on that PC couldn't Import either. Any
ideas? Messages are not stored on any server, so I can only think of
sending all those messages to myself, re-imaging, and then dowloading
them again. There MUST be another way!!

Thanks!

david

You have to include folders.dbx.
Make sure the files are not marked Read Only. This will happen if the files
are on a CD.
Don't let the Inbox get to large. Create new folders and move messages from
the Inbox.
Compact the folders after a big move.
