DSL company tells me my problem is MS
I have OE, XP Pro, all updates, etc. When Windstream Communications took
over our phone company, they told us to keep our email addresses, but we needed to make them more complex to avoid spam. Thus, I did that...keeping my original email address, and adding one of their's. They helped me set up the Accounts properties in my OE6. To date, I have not been able to bring in my original email ). They claim its a MS problem. This isn't making me very happy, since they assured me I would receive the original and their new @windstream.net emails, because the former email address is on my business cards. Does this sync with anyone?? Thank you. -- Molly, I am shouting, With two voices, Walls come down! Walls come down! Walls come down! Poet Maya Angelou |

I did a little checking and I don't see any relationship between valornet and windstream, so, based on that and nothing else it makes sense you lost our original email address. As for it being an MS problem, that's a lot of bunk. IFF there is a problem, it's going to be in the email account's Properties settings. I'd call them back and, without mentioning your "new" address which works, concentrate as much as possible on the old one and why doesn't it work and how do you get it to work? I'll bet you have to change the valornet to windstream or something like that. Let us know; come back with more detail and we may be able to assist you more. Do NOT post your actual email addresses though; use made-up usernames, like xxxx etc., but do use the real parts after the @ sign. Pop` |
