OK. I was just curious. On regular keyboard, any excuse for not using the
Delete key should result in someone getting pantsed and thrown in an icy lake. Laptops can be more problematic, since their designers sometimes put important keys in ridiculous places. I started out by stating that the only thing I could find to delete text was the "Cut" function. I didn't want these Cuts filling up the Windows clipboard. I will just have to train myself to use the delete key. Old habits are hard to break after using Outlook all these years. The only Delete I see is the red "X" in the top tool bar which deletes the entire message. So far, the only thing I see that works is using the Delete key on the computer as suggested by another poster. Perhaps you have disabled the Toolbar in the New Message window. To check, do File - New - Mail Message. This will give a "New Message" window. In that window do: View - Toolbars. Make sure that the "Standards Buttons" menu choice is ticked, i.e. "V Standards Buttons". If that option is checked, you should have a toolbar with the "Cut" (scissors) button which Bruce mentioned.
