How Do You Clear Text In Outlook Express
In Outlook, when you want to clear a portion of text in an e-mail
before sending, you just highlight it and check "clear." How is that done in Outlook Express? I can "cut" the text and put it in the clipboard, but don't see how to just clear it. -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

The keyboard's much faster. |

I would if I could, but I can't find a delete menu option anywhere in
OutlookExpress, including any toolbar customization. The only Delete I see is the red "X" in the top tool bar which deletes the entire message. So far, the only thing I see that works is using the Delete key on the computer as suggested by another poster. If you're in a new message window, or a Forward or Reply, highlight the text
and use either the Cut button, or the Delete key. Red X button is on a message you are reading, not composing. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Dick" wrote in message ... To check, do File - New - Mail Message. This will give a "New Message" window. In that window do: View - Toolbars. Make sure that the "Standards Buttons" menu choice is ticked, i.e. "V Standards Buttons". If that option is checked, you should have a toolbar with the "Cut" (scissors) button which Bruce mentioned. I started out by stating that the only thing I could find to delete
text was the "Cut" function. I didn't want these Cuts filling up the Windows clipboard. I will just have to train myself to use the delete key. Old habits are hard to break after using Outlook all these years.
