I'm having the same problem and others that are viewing my web pages with
background sound (Media Player 11) don't get the sound also. The HTML source code doesn't have any reference to volume. But I checked the source in the email with background sound I sent after installing version 11 and found it's code was defaulting to volume=3D-9640. Why is this happening? I think there is a bug in Windows Media Player 11. We shouldn't have to reset the volume - especially if it is an existing htlm web page! I went back to version 10 and everything worked fine. |

Go to Control Panel | Sounds and look at the devices and their volume levels
and figure out which one is at the lowest level. Change that and it should fix things. steve "csnopek" wrote in message ... That is a temporary fix. I have several pages in my web site with background
sound - everytime a new MIDI file is opened, the sound volume goes off. This must be a bug in Media Player 11. |

I only had the problem with Windows Media Player 11. Media Player 10 works.
I found out there is a problem with the Realtek Audio AC97. I downloaded the new driver WDM_A399.exe today and installed. Now I have sound with my Outlook Express emails that I've included Background Sound but the HTML's still don't work. I emailed the Tech Support at Realtek about this. I'll see what happens. |

Did you check Control Panel | Sounds and check the volume levels for each
device? steve "csnopek" wrote in message ... I only had the problem with Windows Media Player 11. Media Player 10 works. I found out there is a problem with the Realtek Audio AC97.
