Hi all. In my OE6 Newsgroup, the 'From' column is blank. It never used to be
like that.
Any advise to resolve this much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try this in OE:
Tools | Options | Read | Fonts
Set Western European (Windows) as the default font. If that doesn't fix it
try Western European (ISO).

Hello,

This thread has some pointers.
http://groups.google.com/group/micro...7e7ca8df312836

The post by Lew details how he solved the issue

Quote:
Success!!!! Here's the sequence that fixes it. Note that my messages were
previously backed up to an off site imap server.
1. Create a new identity with *no* news server subscriptions. Chose the name
wisely, you can't change it later.
2. Delete *all* other identities, including "main identity."
3. Shut down outlook express.
4. Restart the machine.
5. Restart oe
6. *Manually* add mail and newss server accounts.

Success! success!! It was indeed the problem with the 'identity'
Created another identity, re-create my newsgroup account and all is back to
normal. The 'From' column is now populated with names of sender.
My thanks to SingaporeWebDesign and i_takeuti for the advise and tips.

Cheers to all.

Another happy news reader.

i_takeuti is a spammer and didn't offer you or any of the 100+ threads he
has spammed in the last week. Add him to your killfile.
