Midi in OE
Running XP with IE6. Suddenly I cannot add a midi tune to the emails I send
out but I could in the past. This is my procedure. I complete the nessage and go to Format Background Sound Browse to the midi file and click on it. In the next dialog box I click Play once Okay. At this point in the past the music would start but now I get nothing. Any ideas? Stan |

The volume setting ranges from -10000 to 0 with -10000 being off and 0 being
full volume. Before you insert the background sound you need to make sure your volume setting is correct. Double click the speaker icon by the clock. For a MIDI file it will use the volume control labeled "SW Synth" or something similar. It may vary depending on your sound card. You can check your settings by clicking the Source Tab at the bottom of the Compose Message window and looking for this tag BGSOUND balance=0 src="filepath to soundfile" and setting the volume to zero (0). If not already there, View | Source Edit - Check it. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Stan" wrote in message ... Running XP with IE6. Bruce,
My problem is gone. I had to use System Restore to eliminate another problem and in doing so I got the midi music working normally again. I guess the cause was probably a corrupted file. Thanks for you efforts.Stan "Stan" wrote in message ... Bruce, I am not very knowledgeable with computers and so I don't fully understand your info but I did go to View Source Edit and here is a screen shot of what I got. It's Greek to me so what does it mean to you? What should I do? TIA Stan "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... The volume setting ranges from -10000 to 0 with -10000 being off and 0 being full volume.
