Just logged on and its come up with this new version Outlook Express 6 but
wheres all my old emails and address book etc?

There is no new version of OE6. Sounds like you're in the wrong identity.

File | Switch Identities. See if there is another one that you need to be
in.

Mine did the same AGAIN may not be an official "outlook 6 " but whatever
this is it is doing a good impersonation.

Avoiding Such Corruption in Futu

- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

- Disable Background Compacting [not available in SP2] and frequently
perform a manual compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at

- WinXP SP2 only: Do not shut down your machine while Windows is
automatically compacting your message store.

- Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause such
corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.
