I received an e-mail with photos embedded in the e-mail, not as attachments.
I right-clicked on the first photo and select "Save picture as..." and then I
get this pop-up: "The system cannot find the file specified". Any idea how
I can separate these photos from the e-mail and save them separately to as
photos to a harddrive folder? Connie

Well, I figured out a work-around. I was able to copy each photo separately,
pasted one at a time in Paint, saved as a JPEG. It works this way
wonderfully. Connie

Forward such messages to yourself and you'll be able to save the images,
Connie.

Well, aren't you smart! Thank you! That is a very good trick to remember.
Less work than my method! Thanks again. Connie

Another option is to switch to read in Plain Text mode in Tools,
Options, Read, Read all message in plain text. If already viewing the
desired message, you'll need to switch to another message then back for
it to take effect. The Image or music file should now appear as an
attachment that can be saved.

Has there been a permanent solution to this issue found?

On embedded images in Outlook Express 6.0 email, I am now getting the
mshtml.hlp missing file message when I right click to save an image. After
much reading it appears this file does not exist anyway. I can do a work
around by forwarding the email back to myself and then right clicking on the
image and this works to save the image without a problem.

The only thing that has changed about my XP Professional system since this
problem started was the installation of IE8 from IE6. I had never installed
IE7. After reading many posts on the Internet, this problem seems to have
started with IE7. I never would not have upgraded to IE8 to had security and
support been continued for IE6. At this point I don't have a choice but to
run IE8. Is there any fix for this problem where I don't have to forward the
email to myself or copy and paste it to Paint to save it?
