Default help with retrieving info

ok so my computer had some problems and i decided to resore it with the CD
and chosse the one that does not delete your file and stuff. When it came
back up all files and everything was gone. I finally found all files under
search--back up. I did however have to restart my outlook and when i did
everything there was gone. addresses, emails that were kept in files, etc.
How can I find them? Some are very important....
thanks for any advise or help you give.

Hi Gena,

A new Outlook Express (default) identity may have been created as part
of the restore process. This Microsoft KB article tells how to recover
the lost data -- if this is the case.

im wondering if this is what i may not be doing right??
(NOTE: Make sure to include the Folders.dbx file when you copy the folders.
This file is necessary for the import functions in Outlook Express.)
i did find the addresses and i was able to import that.
thanks

We can't tell from what you say. Is Folders.dbx there with the other DBX
files you want to import?
Did you make sure none are Read Only?

Right click on the dbx files | Properties and clear the Read Only attribute.

File | Import | Messages. Select Microsoft Outlook Express 6 and point to
where the files are located.

If Folders.dbx is not there, then you will have to import each file
manually.

How to restore individual dbx files:
