I did however have to restart my outlook and when i did everything there was gone. addresses, emails that were kept in files, etc. How can I find them? Some are very important.... thanks for any advise or help you give. |

A new Outlook Express (default) identity may have been created as part of the restore process. This Microsoft KB article tells how to recover the lost data -- if this is the case. (NOTE: Make sure to include the Folders.dbx file when you copy the folders. This file is necessary for the import functions in Outlook Express.) i did find the addresses and i was able to import that. thanks "Kuay Tim" wrote: Hi Gena, A new Outlook Express (default) identity may have been created as part of the restore process. Did you make sure none are Read Only? -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM Do not send mail. |

Right click on the dbx files | Properties and clear the Read Only attribute.
File | Import | Messages. Select Microsoft Outlook Express 6 and point to where the files are located. If Folders.dbx is not there, then you will have to import each file manually.
