Default IMAP accounts

Free AOL mail.
IMAP set up as the following article states.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883081

One or both of the following error messages comes up:
Unable to poll Inbox etc blah blah.
No Internet connection is available at this time, work offline, try again.

XPHome OE7 limited users, user one no IMAP no errors, user two with
IMAP=AOL mail, the messages come up, along with some other problems
with MS Word 2000.

XPPro with OE6 with IMAP, Yahoo and AOL, get error messages on startup.
Delete the IMAP accounts and get no errors.
The same with XPPro with OE7.

I have googled and found plenty of answers that just don't fix the problem.
This _usually_ only happens after a reboot or startup. It only affects _OE_
not _IE_.

TIA
