Outlook Express error
 

My dad was attempting to set up his new laptop that he just routed to his
desktop. My mom was on the desktop in their email. My dad was on the phone
with me setting up email. We hadn't gotten to the part where you enter your
mail and smtp info yet, and my mom got an error message on her computer, and
now their email won't come up at all. The error message is as follows:" The
host 'smtp' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly. Account 'pop charter net', server. 'smtp', Protocol :
SMTP, Port:25, Secure(SSL): NO, Socket Error; 11001, Error Number: 0x800ccc
0D" Charter says they can't help them at all because it's a microsoft error.
Their info is entered correctly, they've been using that computer for some
time now. Any help is appreciated!

The error message says your server is smtp. That sure doesn't look like a
server name to me. 0x800ccc is also not a complete error number.
