how do I get rid of AOL Instant Messenger pop-up . . .
Please. How do I get rid of the AOL Instant Messenger "sign-on" pop-up
every time I open Internet Explorer 6? As well as the AOL Instant Messenger icon in the taskbar every time that the sign-on pop-up pops up when opening Internet Explorer 6? Two questions. Getting rid of the (1) the AOL IM sign-on pop-up and (2) the subsequent AOL IM icon in the taskbar. All that being said, I do not wish to uninstall AOL IM. Thanks. WinXP, SP1, IE6

To prevent AIM from starting when you open Outlook Express, go to the Sign
On/Off preferences category in AIM and disable the "Make AIM my default instant messaging program" option.
