Default Attachements close down ADSL connection

A friend has a problem that when he tries to send an attachment in OE it
closes his Broadband connection.

He has checked for viruses and there is not tick in the box telling the
machine to disconnect after sending messages.

I can't think what else to check so any ideas welcome.

Noel
