We would need to see the text of the failure. And there is no such thing as
psmtp in case that wasn't a typo. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "barrowhill" wrote in message ... SMTP is the incoming server settings for a Pop3 account. AFAIK, PSMTP does
not exist in the computer world. I can only surmise that the recipients server settings are not correct. Any way to contact them other that e-mail to check? -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "barrowhill" wrote in message ... Bruce,
Thanks for reply. A phone call should do it. I'll let my friend know your reply as it's his daughter. One thing I don't understand; if psmtp doesn't exist in computer world - I'll admit I only knew of smtp - why has it been reported in the reason for failure ??? ...AFAIK, PSMTP does not exist in the computer world.
cf. http://www.voxgratia.org/docs/pwlib/...ch4/PSMTP.html Translation: is not a valid address (despite the fact that it's the Contact Us address at http://www.beryls.com/mainpage.htm; note that http://forums.beryls.com/ is no good, too) -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.org/ Bruce Hagen wrote: SMTP is the incoming server settings for a Pop3 account. Thanks to all who replied.......
PA Bear......so PSMTP does exist being TCP/IP socket for the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. As regards your other comments I can't comment on the validity of addresses. I do know that'a the e-mail address her farther contacts her on. He's phoned her and explained problem and was told that they had a major (electrical) storm which has disrupted services. They are still down a week after and have IT specialists in trying to fix.
