Microsoft Outlook email - Can't get to OE from IE

Can't get to OE from IE

I open OE (6) from the desktop but occasionally I'm in Internet Exp and
click on the mail button to go to OE. I recently discovered I get Outlook
not OE. From IE Tools/Int Options/Program tab, email is setup for Outlook.
How do I change this? Thanks for your help.
