Hiya
I wonder if anyone can help. I recently on my old computer upgraded from Window ME to XP Pro. When I opened Outlook Express all my old e-mails etc were gone (doh). I can locate where that are stored but I am at a loss as how to open them, or get OE to integrate them with the local folders. I have then gone on to get a new computer running XP Home. I've put my old hard drive in and again can still locate the old DBX files but unable to open with anything meaningful to get at my old e-mails. I've also tried to merge/move them into new folders where OE is now storing them, but they simply rename themselves with a (1) after. Can anyone please advise. Thanks -- Röy (Remove BRAINS to reply) Enjoy life, this is not a rehearsal |

From Steve Cochran:
Search the old drive for *.dbx and then in OE use File | Import and point to that directory. Don't try and move the files into OE's message store directly. That will mess things up. If you want the address book, search for *.wab and then import that file as well. -- Ron Sommer "Röy" wrote in message k... Hiya I wonder if anyone can help. Now, how do you get it to display HTML messages? This has been driving me
nuts with new e-mails, I was thinking it could be AV or Firewall settings, but my old HTML e-mails now only open in plain text that I've just imported. I've been through ToolsOptionsSecuirty and unchecked the 'Block images' box. But it still doesn't open properly. Any ideas please. -- Röy (Remove BRAINS to reply) Enjoy life, this is not a rehearsal |
