Detail view issue when attaching a file
I like to work in detailed view and sort by modified date when looking for
files. In Outlook Express 6.00.29, when I go to attach a file, it comes up list view and I click the icon to change to detail. It lists name, size and type and if I scroll right, I can get to date modified. I would like to set it the default to detail and not show file type so that date modified is right there. I know about right clicking the title bar and unchecking type, but it doesn’t keep. I reinstalled windows XP SP2 recently, and every thing seems to run fine so I don’t think it is a corrupted file. 1) Know a fix for getting rid of type? 2) Know a fix to change detail view to default? I don’t mind getting into the registry. Thank you |

I don't know of anyway to change the dialog default. But there is a
workaround. Instead of using Insert, File, just open (or keep open) a Windows File Explorer window configured as desired. Then just drag-and-drop the desired files from that window into the open message. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Charlie" (donotspam) wrote in message ... Just to add to that, we've been informed here by MS that changing the View
type in that dialog can't be done (or at least not according to them) when the dialog opens and the user has to change that manually. Again, I'm not sure of the accuracy of that information, but it looks like you can't do much about it. steve "Charlie" (donotspam) wrote in message ... Thank you. Thank you. It just seems odd that MS would make a pull down menu that allows
you to check only those columns you want to see, but not allow you to save them. I don't disagree.
