thanks Bruce, did all that compacting. no difference . Called up files named
folders.dbx. two files appeared both named `folders' with no extensions. renamed one of them folders.old but the other could not be renamed. same sending problem exists -- Peter24 "Bruce Hagen" wrote: See this first: http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/probl...htm#foldersdbx If compacting does not resolve the problem, read the consequences, and follow the directions below. 0x800c0131: Damaged or missing folders.dbx file Symptoms You are unable to send email, and you receive the following message: Unknown error has occurred. You have no file named Folders.dbx? This I have never seen before. Try
creating a new identity. File | Identities | Add New Identity, and test it. If that works, you can import your messages from the old identity and then delete it. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Peter24" wrote in message ... thanks Bruce, did all that compacting. no difference . Thanks Bruce, the identity change did the trick. by the way the folders file
had a hidden dbx extension. also I'm now getting lots of ~WRL files that i wasnt getting before. I assume i did something wrong in the process of fixing OE6 cheers Peter -- Peter24 "Bruce Hagen" wrote: You have no file named Folders.dbx? This I have never seen before. Glad to hear it's fixed, Peter.
From the link I provided: q Alternatively you can find it be searching in Windows Explorer for files named *.dbx. Be sure to include hidden files in your search, as OE user files are marked as hidden by default. To view hidden files: a.. In Windows Explorer, click Tools| Folder Options then click the View tab. b.. Click the button for Show hidden files and folders. /q I thought, *Be sure to include hidden files in your search* was enough info. Never the less. The problem is now solved. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Peter24" wrote in message ...
