Default OE6 sending problem

See this first:
http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/probl...htm#foldersdbx

If compacting does not resolve the problem, read the consequences, and
follow the directions below.

0x800c0131: Damaged or missing folders.dbx file

Symptoms

You are unable to send email, and you receive the following message:

Unknown error has occurred. Protocol: SMTP Port: 0 Secu No [SSL] Error:
0x800c0131

Cause
This behavior can occur if the Folders.dbx file is missing, damaged, or
using the read-only attribute.
Resolution
Rename the Folders.dbx file:
1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
2. In the Named box, type folders.dbx.
3. In the Look In box, click your primary hard disk (usually drive C), and
then click Find Now.
4. Right-click the Folders.dbx file, and then click Rename.
5. Type folders.old, and then click OK.
6. Start Outlook Express. This creates a new Folders.dbx file automatically.

Default OE6 sending problem

You have no file named Folders.dbx? This I have never seen before. Try
creating a new identity. File | Identities | Add New Identity, and test it.
If that works, you can import your messages from the old identity and then
delete it.

Default OE6 sending problem

Glad to hear it's fixed, Peter.

From the link I provided:

q
Alternatively you can find it be searching in Windows Explorer for files
named *.dbx. Be sure to include hidden files in your search, as OE user
files are marked as hidden by default. To view hidden files:
a.. In Windows Explorer, click Tools| Folder Options then click the View
tab.
b.. Click the button for Show hidden files and folders.
/q

I thought, *Be sure to include hidden files in your search* was enough info.

Never the less. The problem is now solved.
