Non-receipt of e-mail
Can anyone possibly suggest any cause? I have Window XP and OE6, also Mcafee
Virus Scan Y Spamkiller, the latter 2 regularly updated, but for several weeks now I am just not receiving any e-mail at all either in Inbox or in Mcafee's blocked messages folder. |

Any error messages if you send an e-mail to yourself? Have you checked the
settings in Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | All Tabs? Can you check your mail via your ISPs Website to confirm you have mail? Turn off e-mail scanning. You will still be protected. Remove the account and re-enter it. My gut tells me that this is due to the crap McAfee uses. I would dump it in a heartbeat. I would recommend AVG Free: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5 or: http://www.grisoft.com/doc/40/lng/ww When prompted, choose Custom Installation and *uncheck* e-mail scanning when you see the option. Norton and McAfee products are not Outlook Express friendly, and I don't know of any OE-MVP that would recommend using them. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Sybil Fox" wrote in message ... If you disable SpamKiller, does the problem persist?
Are the messages found in your inbox at the mail account's webmail page? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), Aumha.org VSOP, DTS-L.org Sybil Fox wrote: Can anyone possibly suggest any cause? Thank you so much both of you. I first disabled Spamkiller but made no
difference. There was loads of e-mail in my ISP webmail account. Then I removed and readded the account from OE. Then I re-enabled Spamkiller & removed & re-added the OE account from Spamkiller. And Eureka I received e-mail in my Inbox, but no so far any blocked spam. So at least I'm getting e-mail for the moment touch wood & we'll see what happens about the spam blocking. Sybil Fox |
