Go to: ToolsAccountsMailPropertiesServers. Check the box: My server
requires authentication. Make sure the User Name and Password are entered.

Did you use Reply or Reply Group? When you use Reply, the message is sent
directly to the individual to whom you are replying. And, as I have
learned, some of the folks use a ficitious email address, apparently to
avoid any spammers somehow getting their email address through the
newsgroup.

When you use Reply Group, the reply does not go to an individual; it gets
posted here where all newsgroup users can see it, and you won't get a
non-delivery notice.
