I suddenly lost all the adresses in my OUtlook-adresbook, except the 5 last I
recieved. How does it come and can I get them back?

By "Outlook" do you mean Outlook Express (OE) which is part of Internet
Explorer or Outlook97/98/2000+ which is part of Office? And which
version? (If you don't know, in your mail program select Help, About.)

If you mean Outlook Express, take a look at:

Hello,

We are talking about OE 6.00.
The strange thing is that on all my WAB files, even on my external F: Hard
disk, all the old adresses are no longer visible.

So by copying these files I cannot solve the problem.

Can it be a virus? I work with MacAfee virus scan which is automatically
updated and it did no signal any problem.

Is MS Outlook (or MS Office) also installed?

Do you have this Registry key?...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
\Software
\Microsoft
\WAB
\WAB4

If not, STOP; If so, is there a DWORD named UseOutlook (NB: no space) and is
its value set to 1 (one)?

If not, STOP; If so, Address Book is configured to share contacts with
Outlook, even if you don't use it (can happen with the install of Office).
Change the value to 0 (zero) and all should be well. (If that DWORD is not
present, don't create it, and don't alter any other DWORD values.)

Note that any changes (additions, deletions, edits) made while sharing was
enabled will not be available (displayed) in Address Book when sharing is
disabled.

Thanks for the information. I'll try to find out what you suggest.
