Downloading Messages

Hi,

I notice when going to newsgroups that they will show maybe 300 messages and
it will say something like 5000 messages not downloaded. I tried
synchronozing the newsgroup and asking it to download all messages but the
same original messages show up.....NO 5,000 messages download.

How do I download these messages 'not downloaded.?'

Marc

Tools | Options | Read. Uncheck: Get XXX headers at a time, and all messages
currently available on the server will eventually download.

The problem is that you are entering the newsgroup
and in doing that an automatic Get next 300 headers
is being done for you.

Then, if you are using a Synchronize command with
anything other All Messages as the synchronization method
there will be no new headers and hence no new messages
available to be downloaded.

If you want to download all messages using a synchronize
command you can use the All Messages synchronization method.

If you want to download all new headers and there are more
than your current Get ___ value do not enter the newsgroup
before issuing the synchronize command.

In order to use the synchronize newsgroup command without
using the All Messages synchronization method,
e.g. in order to use the Headers Only method with it,
you must avoid the automatic Get next ___ by either being
disconnected or in a Working Offline state before entering
the newsgroup you want to synchronize.
