Problems with two mail accounts

I am upgrading to another ISP and thus I temporarily want to get email from
my old account and my new account. I have added my new account and made it
the default. So now I receive email from my old account and my new account
automatically. I can also send new email, which comes from my new account
(the default). However, sometimes when I Reply to messages I have received, I
get an error sending the reply. It will never sent this message and I
eventually just have to delete it from the Out Box.

Any idea what is wrong or how I can fix this?
Thanks

Are these errors related to sending mail from the old mail account?
Change the SMTP server on the old account to the SMTP server name from the
new account.

Your old account will be:
POP3 - Old ISP
SMTP - New ISP
Username and password remain the same.

That will allow you to send a message from your old account while connected
to the new ISP.

Thanks for your help. I see what you are saying but let me ask this:

When I change the SMTP server on the old account to be the SMTP server for
my new ISP, you say to leave the password the same. However my new ISP has
the setting that says the outgoing mail requires authentication. Won't that
cause it to try to authenticate the new SMTP server with the old ISP password?

I guess I thought (although it seems pretty certain that I was wrong) that
Outlook Express would use whatever account I set as the default for sending
outgoing mail. So if you know when it uses which SMTP server that might help
me also.

Thanks again for your help

Hi Ray,

For the old account the outgoing (SMTP) authentication can be different from
the incoming settings. Under the server tabs in the account properties click
on the Settings button for SMTP to change to the new account user name and
password.

Set it up the same way and enter the required username and password (new
ISP).
