I am trying to find out if there is a way to delete the old messages stored
somewhere in a cache file. I deleted some messages but they are still showing up in my Google Desktop searches. They are somewhere in a cache file I can't find. Please help if possible. My disk space is getting full. I know how to delete cache in IE and Firefox but not Outlook Express. Thanks in advance. Marie |

Are you referring to the message store? An old identity? Do you have more
than one identity now? Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Write the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer or, copy and paste it into Start | Run. In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K3, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options Icon | View, or in Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View. If you have identities other than your current one(s), delete them. If you have dbx files in the message store for your current identity that don't match any folders you have, delete them as well. {Do not delete Folders.dbx, or Pop3uidl.dbx. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "mariemorris61" u42150@uwe wrote in message news:81359afdd6b6f@uwe...
