Folks:
I am using Microsoft Outlook Express 6 as my email client software. I would like to get access to a script that would alarm.(play an audio file) when email is received from a specific address. maybe such a script already exists. Thanks, JoJo. |

Far as I know, it's not possible. Would have to be a "Message Rule" and I
see no such rule that would play a sound. -- Gary S. Terhune MS-MVP Shell/User www.grystmill.com JoJo wrote in message ... Folks: I am using Microsoft Outlook Express 6 as my email client software. You could make a new folder for such mail, set a Message Rule to move it there, and use OETune to play a special sound when it gets there. This is a coming through the backdoor workaround, but if you download this
program, you can have it check for mail on all incoming folders /except/ the one you want the special sound for. This program has its own alert sound. For the unchecked /special/ folder, the sound would be the one selected in Control Panel | Sounds and Audio Devices | Sounds | New Mail Notification where you can have it play the sound you want. You would need a message rule to divert the e-mail from this one address to its own user created folder and leave that folder unchecked when you set up this tool.
