I lose a month of email every time I compress
Outlook Express sometimes pops up an email "Do you want to compress"?
When I say yes, I sometimes lose the most recent month of email. Its as if the compress process is interrupted before it can get to the last month, or perhaps there is just something wrong with it. Is this a common occurrence with Outlook Express? Is there any way to recover the lost emails? |

The two most common reasons for what you describe is disruption of the
compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), and bloated folders. More on that below. They will eventually become corrupted. Create your own user defined folders for storing mail and move your mail to them. Empty Deleted Items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 100MB, and Default folders as empty as is feasible. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ wrote in message ups.com...
