Saved emails disappearing
When attempting to retrieve a saved email, a whole group of emails in one
folder is missing. After searching for it with Copernic Desktop, it lists the email I want, but says "The selected email is offline and cannot be previewed". How can I get it "online?" |

I'm not familiar with Copernic Desktop. How was it saved, and where was it
saved to? -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Happy" wrote in message ... When attempting to retrieve a saved email, a whole group of emails in one folder is missing. Copernic desktop performs the same function as Google desktop and some of
the others, but I like it better, seems better organized, and flexible. I have a number of folders set up under the "saved items" section under "local folders". This folder previous to today had about 40 saved emails in it. Now there appear to be only about six. Copernic Desktop search found them, and indicated where they were, but no such file, or path, seems to exist. I did a search with MS Search, but it didn't detect them at all. I would assume they would be in the Message Store, and suggest DBXtract, or
DBXpress to recover them, but I know nothing about your Desktop program, or Google's, and what the Saved Items section is that you refer to. Here's how to locate the Store folder, but I'd feel better if someone that is familiar with the program you're using steps in and offers advice. ToolsOptionsMaintenanceStore folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Press the Tab key to highlight the folder location, then Ctrl+C. Close OE, then StartRunCtrl+V will put the location in the box - Click OK and you'll see the OE files. Otherwise, write the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer. In WindowsXP, 2K & 3K, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under StartControl PanelFolder OptionsView.
